Carey has appointed Juan Carlos Riesco as a new partner to lead the litigation and arbitration practice along with partners Gonzalo Fernández, Ricardo Reveco and Aldo Molinari. Carey now has 32 partners, six counsels, two directors of tax and audit and more than 250 associates. Mr. Riesco focuses his practice mainly on civil and commercial litigation, antitrust and regulatory litigation, as well as national and international arbitration.
Mr. Riesco is 37 years old and received his law degree from Universidad Católica de Chile in 2007. He also holds an LL.M. from University of California, Berkeley (2013), as well as two additional degrees, one in Modern Civil and Commercial Rules for Contracting from Universidad de Chile (2008) and another in Administrative Litigation from Universidad Católica de Chile (2016).
In 2014, after completing his LL.M., Juan Carlos worked as foreign associate in the International Arbitration group at Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, DC. Currently, he is a member of the panel of young arbitrators of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Chilean Bar Association.
