His practice focuses on corporate and business law, financing, mergers and acquisitions, in particular, all the regulatory and transactional aspects related to the telecommunications industry, including the Telecom Law and other regulations, concessions, licenses, permits, state contracts and others.


REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • WOM on several matters related to its mobile telephone and data transmission operations in Chile, including day-to-day activities and major projects such as the 5G spectrum public bidding process by the Subtel, spectrum re-farming matters and challenge to the national roaming regulation, among others. Additionally, on its voluntary reorganization proceeding under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, filed in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, which included the negotiation and execution of a senior secured debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing, for up to USD210 million, granted by JPMorgan Chase Bank.
  • Verizon on several matters related to the provision of its telecommunications services in Chile, including Subtel´s Information Transfer System (STI), the obtention of a VoIP concession in Chile and response to questionnaires on telecom matters, among others.
  • Starlink, a satellite Internet services provider based in the US, developed by SpaceX, on regulatory matters related to the provision of non-geostationary and low orbit Internet services in Chile, including the management of telecommunications concessions and permits.
  • Cogent Communications on permanent matters related to the provision of its telecommunications services in Chile, including regulatory aspects on net neutrality and answer to the Chilean regulator's (Subtel) official notes. Additionally, on the implementation of the acquisition by Cogent of the fixed mobile business of Sprint, which included a merge through absortion between Cogent Communications Chile and Sprint International Chile, as well as the obtention of relevant previous authorizations by Subtel.
  • DigitalBridge on day-to-day corporate and telecoms regulatory matters of Mundo Pacífico, its Chilean subsidiary.
  • Werthein Group on the local aspects of the agreement for the acquisition of Vrio. Vrio is AT&T's entertainment business unit that operates the brands DirectTV Go, DirectTV Latin America and Sky Brazil, which altogether represent 10.3 million subscribers in 11 countries.
  • British Telecom (BTGroup) on commercial, corporate, regulatory and other matters related to the provision of its telecommunications services in Chile.
  • Intelsat on the Chilean aspects of several corporate, contractual and regulatory matters, related to the provision of its in-flight connectivity services to the LatAm Airlines fleet in Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru.
